The Artist
John Benscoter is a Ventura, California based artist whose work spans impressionistic watercolors, realistic oil paintings, subtle jewelry pieces, and large mixed media abstracts. Born in Nebraska in 1948, his journey through Southern California surf culture, service in Vietnam, and decades of formal and self-directed study have shaped a style that is unmistakably his own.
